The Big Technology company recently announced that the company research team has developed an artificial intelligence powered solution to help the visually challenged people and named it “Drishti”. They said that it is to improve the way they experience the surroundings. Researchers said that this technology will enhance their productivity in the workplace.
AI technology Is now so advanced that it can empower humans by augmenting their capabilities.Because of it, impaired people can achieve more for themselves and the world around them.
As resources said that “Drishti” The solution for visually impaired is currently being tested at Accenture research workstation in South Africa and soon they gonna launch it with some different language options for their user. The aim of such technologies is to improve the way the visually challenged people live with the complex challenges in their life.AI technology is being used for making their life simple.
As per Accenture press release they are planning to introduce their new project Drishti in India very soon with more than 100 visually challenged employees in their own company.
How it works
“Drishti”, is equipped with smart phone-based assistance using Artificial intelligence technologies. It can recognize images and its natural language processing and natural language generation capabilities are being used to describe the surroundings to the visually impaired person at the same time with super fast speed. This design is capable of providing narration to the user on the number of people around, ages of the people around, their genders and even their facial expressions, when they are smiling, hand movements, everything as a normal person can see. The new AI solution can also identify and narrate text from any literature, they can also find the currency type, water in the bottle, transparent glass doors etc.
As I said before that “Drishti” is currently being tested in South Africa and soon it is going to be launch In India with some different language options for their user.Initially after development, Accenture had tested it with 10 blind professionals in India through the National Association for the Blind .
This is really a good news for the visually impaired people . Being a tech freak I am also very happy and excited for this upcoming AI Based solution .I hope use of such technologies will have a significiant and very much positive impact on the blind community around us.
